Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visited the Badaling section of the Great Wall in northwestern Beijing on Sunday, expressing high hope for his current state visit China.

Vucic arrived in Beijing earlier in the day for a five-day visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

At the scenic area, dancers from Serbia presented traditional singing and dancing performances to express friendship and welcome, marking the start of the president's visit to the world-renowned cultural heritage.

"Our dancing shows love. This is what we brings to you, our love, love from Serbian people to Chinese people," said Danijela Besic, artistic director of the Serbia's National Folk Dance Ensemble "Kolo".

Along the way, Vucic posed for photos on the Great Wall, listened attentively to the introductions, and expressed his joy of visiting the Great Wall for the first time.

"Magnificent place, that people make sure that they've built that constructed this Great Wall, invincible people. This speaks a lot about Chinese people, we all speak a lot about your persistence, consistence, your desire to defend your country, your borders, your sovereignty, independence. But also, it presents always diligence and dedication of Chinese people, which I admire very much," said Vucic.

Expressing his deep feelings for the Chinese people, Vucic said the visit is crucial and is of great significance.

"I want to say we appreciate our iron-clad friendship, that we like Chinese people, that we want to see more Chinese tourists, more Chinese investors, more Chinese people coming to our country. We are profoundly grateful to China for being with us during difficult times. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Speaking about ironclad friendship, that's not just a saying, that's really true. Come to Serbia and enjoy our hospitality," said Vucic.

Vucic also visited a Great Wall gift shop and showed great interests in cultural creative products with panda elements.
