Russia said on Sunday its forces had carried out a series of missile and drone strikes against Ukrainian military targets, while Ukraine reported its forces had struck a major oil pumping station in Russia.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the attacks involved Oreshnik ballistic missiles, Iskander air-launched ballistic missiles, Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles, Tsirkon cruise missiles, as well as air-, sea-, and ground-based cruise missiles and attack drones. Ukrainian command sites, airbases and defense-industrial enterprises were hit in the attacks, it said.

Ukrainian authorities said four people were killed and at least 83 people were injured in the attacks, while residential buildings, shops, educational institutions and medical facilities were damaged. However, the Russian Defense Ministry said later that no strikes were planned or carried out against civilian infrastructure.

In response to the Russian strikes, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on the same day said that Ukraine is calling for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council and a gathering of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

On the same day, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported on social media that Ukrainian forces had launched a drone attack against a major oil pumping station in Vladimir region east of Moscow.

The oil pumping station supplies fuel to Moscow, pumps raw materials from refineries in central Russia to export terminals as well as domestic consumers, and supplies fuel to major Russian airports, according to the SSU.

The attack hit the pumping station, causing a large-scale fire over an area of 800 square meters, the SSU said.
