Hong Kong's stock market ended lower Wednesday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index down 1.06 percent to close at 25,328.23 points.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 1.33 percent to end at 8,463.02 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index slipped 0.79 percent to end at 4,907.57 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index closes lower
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 2.53 percent lower at 2,136.75 points on Wednesday.
The STAR 50 Index, which tracks the 50 largest stocks listed on the board that also meet certain liquidity requirements, closed 2.8 percent lower at 1,815.45 points.
The sci-tech innovation board, commonly known as the STAR Market, was inaugurated in June 2019 at Shanghai Stock Exchange. It is designed to support companies in the high-tech and strategic emerging sectors.
