Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Friday had a phone conversation with his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, to discuss the Strait of Hormuz and its future administration.
In Araghchi's social media post, he wrote that Iran will always stand in solidarity with Oman in the face of any threat. They also discussed Hormuz and its future administration in line with the sovereign responsibilities and international law. Araghchi also added that Iran welcomes consultation with all neighboring states on the Hormuz Strait issue.
The U.S. Central Command warned on Friday that it will conduct military operations near the Strait of Hormuz. In the name of self-defense, it will target any vessel observed to be engaged in, or supporting, mine-laying activities.
Meanwhile, the United States is still implementing maritime blockade measures against Iran. As of Friday, it has forced 115 commercial vessels to change their course.
