China on Monday began implementing 102 national standards for public safety, consumer protection and high-quality economic growth.

Among them is a new standard on credit information data for financing services of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

It sets basic principles for using credit data, including information classification, data requirements and management.

Authorities hope the move will improve data governance under the national integrated financing credit service platform, helping to ease financing difficulties and lower borrowing costs for SMEs.

Other standards include those for freestanding smoke fire detectors, packaging and transport of dangerous goods, electrical safety of gas-fired appliances, formaldehyde emission limits for engineered wood products, refrigeration appliances, inclusive communities for people with dementia in an aging society, and defect monitoring and analysis of power batteries.
