A China-Europe freight train loaded with 55 containers departed on Tuesday from the Erenhot railway port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region bound for Malaszewicze, Poland, marking the 2,000th train to pass through the port since the beginning of this year.
As of Monday, the Erenhot railway port had handled 193,700 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of goods, totaling 1.8266 million tonnes, representing year-on-year increases of 10.94 percent and 27.46 percent, respectively, according to local authorities.
As a key part of the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Europe Railway Express continues to expand its transcontinental logistics network.
Currently, 75 train routes operate via the Erenhot railway port, reaching over 70 hub stations in more than 10 countries, such as Germany and Poland. Domestically, the network covers most of the originating cities of China-Europe freight train services.
