Promotion event for 9th CIIE held in Vienna

A promotional event for the ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE) took place in Vienna, Austria on Tuesday, attracting around 200 representatives from Chinese and Austrian enterprises.

Wu Zhengping, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau, highlighted the fruitful bilateral economic and trade cooperation achieved since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Austria 55 years ago.

He encouraged high-quality Austrian enterprises in sectors such as machinery manufacturing and environmental protection to participate in the 9th CIIE, showcasing their distinctive products, technologies, and services and utilizing the CIIE platform to expand economic and trade cooperation with China.

The 9th CIIE is scheduled to be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from November 5 to 10.

Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith visited the China Academy of Space Technology in Beijing on Thursday.

Also general secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Thongloun said that ever since China successfully brought lunar soil back to Earth from the moon, he has firmly believed its space program will continue to bring more good news to the world.

The academy plays an important role in China's space exploration.

During the visit, the Lao delegation viewed the academy's achievements in the fields of crewed spaceflight, deep-space exploration, navigation, communications, and remote sensing.

Thongloun is paying a five-day state visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. He arrived in Beijing on Thursday after concluding the first leg of his trip in east China's Zhejiang Province.
