European stocks closed higher across the board on Friday.
The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index rose 1.63 percent to 10,471.72 points. France's CAC 40 index gained 1.83 percent to finish at 8,350.87 points. Germany's DAX index advanced 1.76 percent to end the session at 24,635.30 points.

International gold and silver prices both advanced on Friday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for August delivery rose 3.03 percent to settle at 4238.80 U.S. dollars per ounce, while silver futures for July delivery gained 6.21 percent to close at 67.974 dollars per ounce.
