Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing in Beijing on Tuesday.

Xi noted that China places ties with Myanmar as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy, and supports the new Myanmar government in coordinating development and security imperatives to find a correct path of development that suits its national conditions and wins popular support.

Xi said China is willing to share development experience with Myanmar and jointly build a China-Myanmar community with a shared future featuring political mutual trust and friendship, mutually beneficial development, coordinated security cooperation, and mutual learning in cultural exchanges, bringing more benefits to the two peoples and making greater contributions to regional peace and development.

Noting that China is Myanmar's neighbor with the longest shared border, and a trustworthy friend and partner, Xi stressed that facing an international situation marked by intertwined changes and turbulence, both sides must maintain strategic clarity and composure, and strengthen solidarity and cooperation.

He said the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor is a flagship project of the Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries, and both sides should steadily advance the construction of key projects with safety ensured to help Myanmar develop its economy and improve people's livelihoods.

Xi said China is willing to increase support for Myanmar's post-earthquake reconstruction and implement more "small and beautiful" assistance projects.

He called on both sides to crack down on crimes such as online gambling, telecom fraud, and drug smuggling to effectively safeguard the interests and security of the two peoples.

Xi said China supports all parties in Myanmar in advancing peace and reconciliation through negotiations to achieve long-term stability in northern Myanmar.

Min Aung Hlaing expressed appreciation for China's long-term support, saying Myanmar will firmly abide by the one-China principle.

He said Myanmar looks forward to strengthening all-round cooperation with China, jointly building the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor, and elevating trade and investment levels.

Min Aung Hlaing emphasized that Myanmar attaches great importance to and will make every effort to ensure the safety of Chinese enterprises and personnel in Myanmar. He said Myanmar is willing to work closely with China to resolutely crack down on online gambling and telecom fraud, and maintain border security and stability.

Min Aung Hlaing said Myanmar fully supports the four global initiatives proposed by Xi, and is willing to strengthen multilateral communication and coordination with China.

After the talks, the two heads of state jointly witnessed the signing of multiple cooperation documents in fields including transportation and people's livelihood.

At noon, Xi hosted a welcome banquet for Min Aung Hlaing at the Golden Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
