China's Ministry of Commerce has underscored the positive role of the Germany session of the "Big Market for All: Export to China" campaign in driving practical cooperation between Chinese and German companies, according to spokesman He Yadong at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

The event, held in Berlin on June 11, marked the first stop of the campaign in EU countries.

Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside a promotion event for the ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE), the session focused on ways to keep the trading relationship relevant and to explore new areas of cooperation ahead of the next edition of the CIIE scheduled in Shanghai in November.

"The event brought together more than 120 representatives from 80 Chinese and German companies. Nearly 20 major Chinese enterprises, including COMAC and FAW, took part, covering sectors such as aviation equipment and auto parts. German companies promoted precision instruments and specialty active pharmaceutical ingredients, achieving effective business matchmaking. During the event, German enterprises widely noted that the development of China's new quality productive forces is creating fresh opportunities for their products and technologies to enter the Chinese market. They also emphasized that China's vast market potential and sound business environment continue to attract German companies to expand in China," he said.

During British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to China in late January, China and the UK signed four economic and trade cooperation documents. With the signing of a memorandum of understanding on export cooperation with China, Britain has become the first country to sign such a memorandum with China since China launched the initiative to enable global trade partners to share its vast market.

"Looking ahead, the ministry will continue to host the campaign's series of event in line with the schedule for 2026. In July, a special session will be held in the United Kingdom, which, as the country of the year, remains a central focus of this year's program," said the ministry.

Iran's state television IRIB reported on Sunday that the U.S.-Iran talks, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar, were suspended after about 80 minutes of discussions, as the two sides paused for a break and internal consultations.

According to media reports, no negotiations on Iran's nuclear program took place during the first round of talks, which focused on the implementation of clause 13 of the recently signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries and prioritized issues related to Lebanon.

Qatari sources said the first round of talks focused on Lebanon, with discussions on the Strait of Hormuz to follow. A third session will address Iran's nuclear program and sanctions.

Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency, citing a source close to the negotiating team, said the Iranian delegation left the venue of the talks in protest over comments by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Earlier in the day, Trump threatened on his Truth Social platform to "hit Iran very hard again" if Iran did not stop Hezbollah from "causing trouble."
