Laishui County in north China's Hebei Province held a series of vibrant activities during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, blending the region's scenic landscapes with traditional folk customs to attract holidaymakers.
At the county's Yesanpo Scenic Area, bamboo raft races drew enthusiastic participation throughout the three-day holiday, which concluded Sunday. Tourists, wearing life vests, paddled in teams across the clear waters, cheered on by fellow visitors along the banks.
Along the riverbank, a folk culture experience zone featured hands-on activities including zongzi (sticky rice dumplings)-making, five-color silk cord braiding, and mugwort sachet crafting - all of which proved popular with visitors.
"The variety of activities really makes me want to join in. The atmosphere is fantastic - I'm truly enjoying myself," said Guo Fuzhen, a tourist.
Local culinary specialties and folk performances were also on offer, enhancing the visitor experience and providing a boost to cultural tourism spending in the county.
The Duanwu Festival, or the Dragon Boat Festival, falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
