Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Sunday warned the U.S. to "be careful with their statement" in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to strike Iran again over its support for Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Ghalibaf, who leads the Iranian negotiating team for Sunday's talks with the U.S. side in central Switzerland's Buergenstock resort, wrote on X that if the U.S. threat had any effect, the U.S. side wouldn't have reached the point of despair today.

"They had better be careful with their statements. Our armed forces are ready to respond in another way," said Ghalibaf.

Trump on Sunday threatened on his Truth Social platform to "hit Iran very hard again" if the country does not stop Hezbollah from "causing trouble".

Israel and the Hezbollah have accused each other of violating a ceasefire in southern Lebanon with continued strikes.

The Strait of Hormuz remains closed, and Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy will not issue passage permits to any vessels until further notice, an Iranian military source said on Sunday.

On the same day, Iran's Tasnim News Agency said that maritime navigation data showed that no vessels had passed through the Strait of Hormuz since the Iranian military announced its closure on June 20, with traffic dropping to zero.

The report said that, contrary to claims by the U.S. military, the strategic waterway is currently blockaded under Iranian control.

The Iranian military said it has closed the Strait of Hormuz again over Israel's continued attacks on southern Lebanon, citing a breach of Iran's agreement with the U.S. to end the war. However, the U.S. military has said "traffic continues to flow" in the strait.
