Miller Barondess Wins High-Stakes Battle for the City of Inglewood Against Hollywood Park/SoFi Stadium and The Forum/Intuit Dome

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun 24, 2026--

The City of Inglewood, represented by Miller Barondess, LLP, has achieved a victory in lawsuits brought in Los Angeles County Superior Court by Hollywood Park/SoFi Stadium and The Forum/Intuit Dome challenging the City’s twenty-year agreement (plus two ten-year options) with WOW Media to develop advertising and traffic information kiosks throughout Inglewood. The trial court (Honorable Joseph Lipner) ruled in the City’s and WOW’s favor on the merits, upholding the validity of their agreement.

The lawsuits, filed by entities affiliated with Hollywood Park/SoFi Stadium owned by billionaire Stan Kroenke, and The Forum/Intuit Dome owned by billionaire Steve Ballmer, filed lawsuits to invalidate the City’s agreement with WOW to construct and operate 60 advertising and public safety kiosks across Inglewood. Plaintiffs alleged that they – rather than the City – possessed rights to such advertising and that the City/WOW agreement violated multiple provisions of state and local law.

Inglewood is the sports and entertainment capital of the country, attracting more than five million visitors annually for NFL and NBA games, concerts, the Super Bowl, All-Star games, the FIFA World Cup, and the upcoming 2028 Olympics. SoFi Stadium is home to two NFL teams – the L.A. Rams and Chargers – while Intuit Dome is the home of the NBA’s LA Clippers. SoFi Stadium has hosted concerts by Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Shakira and many others, while The Forum has hosted the Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga and many more. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off in June, with matches at SoFi Stadium, followed by Super Bowl LXI in 2027 and the Olympics in 2028.

The litigation centered on advertising rights worth hundreds of millions of dollars in the nation’s premier sports and entertainment destination. With this decision, the court upheld the City of Inglewood’s right to realize very substantial public benefits – public safety enhancements and millions for public services to better serve the residents of Inglewood – generated by its agreement with WOW. The Inglewood Police Department and other municipal services will benefit tremendously, as will visitors to Inglewood. The information network in the WOW kiosks will not only direct traffic, it also will provide information on local emergencies, public safety, Amber alerts, and other valuable public information.

Per Inglewood Mayor James Butts, “This revenue source finances, among other things, pre-kindergarten classes, our Blue Zone for seniors, park infrastructure renewal, public safety services, and the resurfacing of streets traveled by 5+ million visitors per year attending over 400 events annually in Inglewood. Inglewood residents have the right to stable and long-term sources of economic security.”

“This is a great victory for the City and its residents, who will reap huge benefits for many years,” said Skip Miller of Miller Barondess, LLP, litigation counsel for the City. “I’m proud of our team and commend them for this victory. We are honored to represent the City.”

The City of Inglewood was represented by Skip Miller, Justin Ehrlich and a team at Miller Barondess, LLP.

WOW Media was represented by Lee Rubin and Doug Smith of Mayer Brown.

Hollywood Park/SoFi Stadium and The Forum/Intuit Dome were represented by Jim Fogelman and Kahn Scolnick of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, along with attorneys from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP and Latham & Watkins LLP in certain aspects of this matter.

The cases are:

Pincay Re, LLC, et al. v. City of Inglewood, et al., 25STCP02561 (L.A. Superior Ct., filed July 11, 2025); Forum Entertainment, LLC, et al. v. City of Inglewood, et al., 25STCP02940 (L.A. Superior Ct., filed August 5, 2025).

Gruber comes to this role from Cambia Health Solutions ' Strategy and Innovation team, leading data-driven enterprise strategy initiatives — spanning technology, AI and pharmacy — to improve health outcomes, experience and affordability for millions of health plan members across the country. During that time, she partnered directly with the Foundation on its 10-year strategy refresh, developing a deep understanding of the Foundation's vision and the communities it serves. She brings a proven track record of advancing impact across nonprofit and corporate sectors — tackling complex challenges, stewarding investment portfolios responsibly and collaborating across teams to find the critical intersection between community need and organizational priority. Prior to joining Cambia, she spent over a decade at Deloitte advising nonprofit health systems on patient access, quality and financial stability, before rising to Chief of Staff to the Chief People Officer, where she provided strategic guidance on approximately $1 billion in annual operational and strategic investments.

Gruber will assume her new role on June 24, succeeding Peggy Maguire who is retiring from the Foundation after a distinguished tenure.

"Our search centered on finding someone who could honor the Foundation's deep roots while boldly advancing its future," said Dan Conrad, chief administrative officer of Cambia Health Solutions. "Allison brings a rare combination of strategic vision and genuine passion for the communities we serve. Her dedication to building happier, healthier communities is at the heart of everything she does.”

"I’m honored to step into this role at such an important moment for the Foundation," said Gruber. "The Cambia Health Foundation’s work is incredibly meaningful to me. I look forward to building on its impact and working alongside our partners to drive lasting change for our communities."

Gruber earned a Master of Public Health in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sciences & Policy and Psychology from Duke University.
