Cambodia's senate president arrives in Beijing for official goodwill visit to China

Cambodian People's Party (CPP) President and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen arrived in Beijing on Thursday for an official goodwill visit to China.

His visit, at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC), is scheduled for June 25 to 27.

China remains Cambodia's largest investor and trading partner and one of its most important sources of international tourists.

In 2023, China and Cambodia agreed to implement the "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework, focusing on six priority areas: politics, production capacity, agriculture, energy, security and people-to-people exchanges.

In 2025, the two countries agreed to build an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.

In 2025, bilateral trade between the two countries exceeded 19.7 billion U.S. dollars, marking a year-on-year increase of nearly 30 percent.

The Haikou-Singapore international cargo route saw its maiden flight on Wednesday in Hainan, China's southernmost island province, marking a new air freight corridor between Hainan Free Trade Port and Southeast Asia.

Operated by Tianjin Air Cargo, the route has a maximum one-way payload of 22 metric tons and offers three flights per week.

It connects domestic cargo trunk lines and links production bases, logistics hubs and overseas direct logistics channels, helping to improve the cross-border logistics system within the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) region.

The route uses B738 all-cargo aircraft.
