Hong Kong's stock market ended lower Thursday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index down 1.43 percent to close at 23,076.91 points.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell 2.02 percent to end at 7,608.38 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 1.63 percent to end at 4,405.92 points.
Hong Kong stocks close lower Thursday
Chinese stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.23 percent to 4,120.28 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.82 percent higher at 16,344.08 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices reached 3.59 trillion yuan (about 526.32 billion U.S. dollars), up from 3.28 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to memory chips and ultracapacitors led the gains, while the precious metal sector saw major declines.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 2.84 percent to close at 4,371.99 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 2.1 percent higher at 2,391.95 points.
