China Media Group (CMG) is airing a seven-part historical and cultural documentary Potala Palace on several of its channels.
The Potala Palace is a world-renowned cultural heritage site, the highest-altitude and best-preserved palace complex in the world. It stands as a historical testament to China's governance of its frontier regions and a lasting witness to exchanges, interactions, and integration among the Chinese nation's diverse ethnic groups. Across its long history, politics, religion, culture, and art have intertwined to create countless remarkable stories.
Jointly produced by CMG and Xizang Radio and Television Station, the documentary premiered on CCTV-4 on June 23, with new episodes airing daily through June 29 at 18:10 (GMT+8)/10:10 GMT.
It will also air on CCTV-9 from June 29 to July 5 at 22:05 (GMT+8)/14:05 GMT. CCTV-1 will rebroadcast the series at a later date, while China Media Group Mobile (Yangshipin) will offer the full online release.
The English version will be broadcast on CGTN English from July 3 to 9 at 13:00 (GMT+8)/05:00 GMT.
