Lotus in full bloom brightens summer landscape across China, attracting tourists.

At the Daguanlou Park in Kunming City of southwest China's Yunnan Province, lotus leaves unfold layer upon layer, and pink blossoms stretch out from the jade-green foliage in the pond, creating a magnificent summer scene.

In Zhoukou City of central China's Henan Province, more than 100 varieties of lotus flowers cover an area of over 130 hectares at the Longhu National Wetland Park, attracting many visitors to take pictures.

In Wuxi City of east China's Jiangsu Province, lotus flowers burst into bloom in succession in some rural areas. Many city dwellers make their way to lotus ponds to appreciate the poetic beauty of summer.

At the Ancient Lotus Pond in Baoding City of northern China's Hebei Province, the garden's time-honored lotus flowers are quietly blooming, ushering in the most enchanting lotus-viewing season of the year.

To enrich the garden-strolling experience, the site puts up regular cultural activities at weekends to invite visitors to enjoy tea and delicacies while savoring the beauty of lotus flowers.

Firefighters rescued a man who was swept into a flooded river in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Saturday, after severe convective weather brought heavy rain, hail and flash floods to parts of Chifeng City.

The incident occurred at around 17:00 in Erdaojingzi Village, Hongshan District, when the man tried to cross the river on an electric tricycle and was carried by the current toward the middle of the waterway.

Rescuers arrived to find fast-moving water and heavy rain. Carrying life-saving equipment, including lifebuoys, they moved to the opposite bank, where the ground was higher and the current was relatively calmer, before approaching the stranded man.

After placing a lifebuoy on him and securing him, the rescuers brought the man to safety. He was later found to be unharmed.
