China's cooperation with Pacific Island Countries (PICs) is open and transparent, and shows respect to the will of the local people, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday, responding to a question about cooperation with Vanuatu.
"China's cooperation with Vanuatu is based on mutual respect, equal consultation, mutual benefit, win-win outcome, openness and inclusiveness. China will continue to expand friendly exchanges and cooperation with Vanuatu in various fields in accordance with the country's wishes and needs, for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples," Guo said.
"China's cooperation with PICs is open and transparent, neither imposing its will on others nor targeting any third party, and is sincerely welcomed by the people of these island countries," he said.
