Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, conferred the July 1 Medal, the Party's highest honor, on model CPC members in Beijing on Wednesday morning.
Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, helped the awardees put on the medals and shook hands with them at a ceremony held in the Great Hall of the People.
The event was part of the celebrations marking the CPC's 105th founding anniversary.
Eight people have been awarded the July 1 Medal this year.
Outstanding Party members, Party workers, and primary-level Party organizations from across the country were also honored at the gathering.
The July 1 Medal was first awarded in 2021 to mark the centennial of the founding of the CPC.
