SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Rafael Devers scored the tiebreaking run in a two-run eighth inning when catcher Hunter Goodman threw wildly into center field on a stolen-base attempt, and the San Francisco Giants overcame Jake McCarthy's second leadoff inside-the-park home run this season to beat the Colorado Rockies 3-1 Sunday.
San Francisco won three of four in the series and entered the All-Star break fourth in the NL West at 41-55. The Giants have won 21 of their past 23 home games against Colorado and are 36-7 in San Francisco against the Rockies since 2021.

Colorado has lost four of five and is a National League-worst 39-59. The Rockies are 17-34 on the road.
McCarthy had an inside-the-park homer off Pittsburgh's Paul Skenes at Coors Field on June 20 and became the first player with two inside-the-park homers in the same season since the New York Giants' Edd Roush in 1929
McCarthy drove Trevor McDonald's second pitch of the game on a bounce to the 415-foot sign in right-center field. The ball bounced away from right fielder Jung Hoo Lee and McCarthy slid home ahead of an off-line relay throw from second baseman Luis Arraez for his 10th home run this season.
Drew Gilbert's RBI single tied the score in the fourth.
Devers led off the eighth with a walk against Antonio Senzatela (9-2 and took third on Bryce Eldridge’s one-out single. Grant McCray pinch ran for Eldridge and broke for second on the first pitch to Willy Adames. Goodman’s throw bounced into center as McCray took third and Adames singled for a two-run lead.
Erik Miller (2-0) struck out Mickey Moniak to strand a runner at second in the eighth, then worked around Goodman's single in the ninth.
McDonald allowed three hits in seven innings after giving up eight runs and 11 hits over 2 1/3 innings in a 9-3 loss to Toronto on Tuesday.
Rockies: Host Cincinnati on Friday night.

HAMPTON, Ga. (AP) — Pole winner Ryan Blaney held the lead when severe weather caused a delay in the NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway on Sunday night.
There had been concern about approaching rain before lighting within eight miles of the 1.54-mile oval track near Atlanta led NASCAR officials to order cars off the track and advise fans to exit the grandstand. Rain began soon after the race was delayed.
The race was halted at lap 108 in Stage 2. The race is scheduled for 260 laps and 130 laps must be completed for the race to be official.
Blaney won the pole and his Team Penske teammate Joey Logano joined him on the front row. A third Team Penske driver, Austin Cindric, moved up to third early in the race for an early strong showing for the Fords.
Bubba Wallace was second and Tyler Reddick was third when the race was delayed. Another Toyota driver, Christopher Bell, was fourth. Chase Elliott, who won last summer’s race in Atlanta, was fifth.
Cup Series points leader Denny Hamlin, who qualified 28th, moved up to 15th.
Reddick, who won at EchoPark Speedway in February as part of his string of five wins in the season's first nine races, qualified only 31st on Saturday. By the 35th lap he already had moved up to fourth, proving early that he again would be a factor in Atlanta.
The Cup Series moves to North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, next weekend. Christopher Bell edged Joey Logano at North Wilkesboro Speedway in the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 18, 2025.
