Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Shanghai on Wednesday to attend the 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance.

The 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance will be held in Shanghai from July 17 to 20. Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote speech.

During Tokayev's stay in China, the two heads of state will conduct in-depth strategic communication, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
