The Vietnam People's Navy's Frigate Tran Hung Dao concluded a four-day goodwill visit in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, on Thursday.
As the "Farewell March" played, the Vietnamese warship slowly departed from a naval port in Guangzhou, with Chinese and Vietnamese officers and sailors waving to each other.
After leaving the port, the Tran Hung Dao was escorted out of China's territorial waters by the accompanying Chinese naval guided-missile frigate Enshi.
Upon arrival at the farewell point, the naval vessels of the two countries exchanged a friendly goodbye via radio.
During the visit, naval officers and sailors from both sides toured each other's ships, engaged in professional exchanges such as rope knotting and towing, and participated in cultural and sports exchange activities such as a friendly tug-of-war.
Both sides also hosted welcome receptions and deck receptions, where naval officers and sailors from both countries gathered to enjoy traditional cuisine and watch cultural performances, reminiscing about their traditional friendship.
"The visit by Vietnamese naval vessels to Guangzhou has consolidated traditional friendship, enhanced military mutual trust, and deepened pragmatic cooperation. It has positive practical significance to jointly promoting regional peace and stability and building a higher-level, strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future," said Hu Jingyi, a military officer with a naval unit of the PLA Southern Theater Command.
