China's cultural enterprises achieved a business revenue of 7.2026 trillion yuan in the first half of this year, up 4.6 percent year on year, according to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Thursday.
The data show that cultural industries featuring new business models registered robust development momentum.
"The quality and efficiency improvement of cultural industries has greatly expanded cultural product and service consumption. Cultural enterprises have achieved steady growth in business revenue, especially those in new cultural industries registering robust vitality," said Pan Xuhua, deputy director of the Cultural Industry Division at the NBS Statistics Department of Social, Science and Technology, and Cultural Industries.
The business revenue of cultural enterprises under the 16 categories that significantly highlight new business models reached 3.5239 trillion yuan, up 9.6 percent year on year.
"Among the cultural industries featuring new business models, those specializing in six categories -- digital publishing, copyright and cultural software services, manufacturing of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles for entertainment, Internet advertising services, other cultural digital content services, and other Internet information services -- achieved double-digit growth," said Pan.
In addition, the cultural service industry played an important supporting role in the first half of the year, with the business revenue reaching 4.3235 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.1 percent, accounting for 60 percent of the total cultural business revenue.
