European stocks closed mixed across the board on Monday.
The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index fell 0.10 percent to close at 10,857.70 points. France's CAC 40 index gained 1.22 percent to finish at 8,613.82 points. Germany's DAX index rose 1.45 percent to end the session at 26,001.31 points.

U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 693.38 points, or 1.32 percent, to 53,178.41. The Standard and Poor's 500 added 110.78 points, or 1.48 percent, to 7,600.50. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 540.04 points, or 2.13 percent, to 25,913.90.
Eight of the 11 primary Standard and Poor's 500 sectors ended in the green, with communication services and consumer discretionary leading the gainers by adding 4.3 percent and 2.68 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, energy and consumer staples led the laggards by going down 1.23 percent and 0.31 percent, respectively.
