Land Registry releases statistics for July
The Land Registry today (August 4) released its statistics for July 2026.

Land registration
* The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in July was 6 715 (-28.8 per cent compared with June 2026 and -6.9 per cent compared with July 2025)
* The 12-month moving average for July was 7 776 (0.5 per cent below the 12-month moving average for June 2026 but 30.2 per cent above that for July 2025)
* The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements of building units in July was $51.7 billion (-37.5 per cent compared with June 2026 and -5.3 per cent compared with July 2025)
* Among the sale and purchase agreements, 4 462 were for residential units (-41.7 per cent compared with June 2026 and -22.6 per cent compared with July 2025)
* The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was $41.9 billion (-44.6 per cent compared with June 2026 and -9.6 per cent compared with July 2025)
Statistics on sales of residential units do not include sale and purchase agreements relating to sales of units under the Home Ownership Scheme, the Private Sector Participation Scheme, the Tenants Purchase Scheme, etc, unless the premium of the unit concerned has been paid after the sale restriction period.
Figures on sale and purchase agreements received for the past 12 months, the year-on-year rate of change and breakdown figures on residential sales have also been released.
As deeds may not be lodged with the Land Registry until up to 30 days after the transaction, these statistics generally relate to land transactions in the previous month.

Land search
* The number of searches of land registers made by the public in July was 1 466 737 (+190.2 per cent compared with June 2026 and +246.0 per cent compared with July 2025)
The statistics cover searches made at the counter, through the self-service terminals and via the Integrated Registration Information System Online Services.

Brussels ETO brings Hong Kong's music talent to Marvao International Music Festival in Portugal
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (Brussels ETO), together with the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, supported the Hong Kong Sinfonietta's participation in the Marvao International Music Festival held in Marvao, Portugal, from July 24 to August 2 (Marvao time).
Led by Music Director Christoph Poppen, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta staged four performances at the Festival this year, including the Farewell Gala on August 2 (Marvao time) which marked the closing of the Festival. The performances also featured renowned musicians from Hong Kong, including harmonica virtuoso and composer Cy Leo, jazz pianist Daniel Chu, as well as composer-performer Alice Yeung, showcasing the talent of Hong Kong's young musicians to around 2 000 international audience members attending the Festival.
The Deputy Representative of the Brussels ETO, Mr Kasper Ng, attended the Farewell Gala and the reception to showcase Brussels ETO's support to the orchestra, and promote the vibrant arts and cultural scene of Hong Kong as the event capital of Asia with world-class festivals and cultural celebrations.
The Marvao International Music Festival is one of Europe's leading classical music festivals, and is held in the medieval hilltop town of Marvao. Hong Kong Sinfonietta's participation this year marks the orchestra's fourth time participating in this internationally acclaimed Festival, further strengthening cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Portugal as well as the rest of Europe, and demonstrating the high-calibre quality and diversity of Hong Kong's musical talent.
