A new travel variety show was launched on Saturday in Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, aiming to further promote the high-quality development of Xinjiang's cultural and tourism industry.
Titled "Blossom Road: A Journey of the Most Beautiful Wishes," the program is an iconic cooperative project jointly launched by the China Media Group (CMG) and Xinjiang's regional department of culture and tourism.
Centering on four premium tourist routes including the Karakoram Highway and Yining-Zhaosu Highway, the program travels across the Tianshan Mountains and presents Xinjiang's stunning landscapes. By building a brand-new variety IP for CMG, the program brings Xinjiang's high-quality tourism resources and distinctive cultural tourism projects to audiences nationwide.
The show consists of 12 episodes, with each lasting 60 minutes. It is scheduled to air simultaneously on CCTV-3 every Friday at 21:00 starting August 14.
"The biggest feature of our program is that it highlights the feeling of being on the road. We have launched four travel routes in this program, with each featuring unique landscapes. Our primary goal is to boost the high-quality development of cultural tourism in Xinjiang, and create a brand-new IP for the China Media Group," said Xue Tao, a director at CMG.
Multiple cooperation agreements including a strategic cooperation framework on Xinjiang's cultural tourism were signed at the event. Relying on content empowerment, IP development and promotional communication, the partnership is expected to help boost Xinjiang's cultural and tourism industry.

Lashed by Typhoon Dolphin’s outer bands, Shanghai endured torrential rains and gale‑force winds Sunday, unleashing urban flooding that spurred emergency crews to drain swamped streets and residential areas.
Starting early Sunday, Shanghai was drenched by heavy downpours that flooded more than 100 road sections across Pudong, Huangpu, Changning and Xuhui. The severe waterlogging stalled vehicles and disrupted traffic, prompting authorities to mobilize rescue teams.
The municipal water authority stepped up coordinated drainage through rivers, sluice gates and pump stations, while the Shanghai Municipal Investment Group deployed 32 mobile pump trucks to support intensive relief operations across the city.
The severe weather also caused dangerous water backflow in older residential compounds and low-lying zones. In one such incident in Songjiang District, severe flooding was reported in the underground areas of a residential building, posing safety risks such as electrical short circuits and power leaks from damp appliances.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the Songjiang Fire Department rushed to the scene. After assessing the situation, rescue personnel quickly deployed high-capacity water pumps from their fire engines, managing to drain 600 tons of floodwater per hour into a nearby river.
As of the latest update, surface water on the roads at the compound has been successfully cleared, while drainage operations in the underground spaces are still underway.
Typhoon Dolphin, the 13th of the year, made landfall at Yuhuan of Taizhou City, east China's Zhejiang Province, at around 17:30 on Sunday, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
