China's e-commerce logistics industry maintained a stable performance in July, with the total business volume and rural business volume both maintaining year-on-year growth of over 20 percent, according to data released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) on Tuesday.

The index tracking e-commerce logistics activities stood at 111.2 points in July, down 0.2 points from the previous month.

The index retreat came as concentrated promotional activities on e-commerce platforms gradually tapered off, leading to a return to normal operations of the e-commerce market. However, the overall foundation of the industry remained solid, according to the CFLP.

Regional data showed that the rural e-commerce logistics in the western and northeastern parts of the country continued to improve in July.

The sub-index tracking warehouse turnover rate rose 0.4 points from June, marking a third consecutive monthly increase, signaling further improvements in enterprise inventory turnover efficiency.

In addition, the sub-indices for logistics timeliness, fulfillment rate, and satisfaction rate all rose for six consecutive months since February, indicating steady improvements in service quality.

The cost sub-index fell 0.3 points in July, reflecting a slight ease in business operating pressures.

The People's Bank of China (PBOC), the country's central bank, announced on Monday that it has decided to authorize Deutsche Bank to serve as the RMB clearing bank in Frankfurt, Germany.

The decision was made in accordance with a memorandum of understanding between the PBOC and the Deutsche Bank, the central bank said.

Deutsche Bank said it will facilitate direct end-to-end processing, clearing and settlement services for cross-border renminbi transactions for European financial institutions and businesses.

The bank said the move streamlines cross-border trade and investment flows, and strengthens financial connectivity between China and Europe.
