European stocks closed mixed across the board on Monday.
The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index dropped 38.59 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 10,862.50 points. France's CAC 40 index gained 11.10 points, or 0.13 percent, to finish at 8,726.03 points. Germany's DAX index climbed 4.43 points, or 0.02 percent, to end the session at 26,323.88 points.
European stocks close mixed Monday
The People's Bank of China (PBOC), the country's central bank, announced on Monday that it has decided to authorize Deutsche Bank to serve as the RMB clearing bank in Frankfurt, Germany.
The decision was made in accordance with a memorandum of understanding between the PBOC and the Deutsche Bank, the central bank said.
Deutsche Bank said it will facilitate direct end-to-end processing, clearing and settlement services for cross-border renminbi transactions for European financial institutions and businesses.
The bank said the move streamlines cross-border trade and investment flows, and strengthens financial connectivity between China and Europe.
