Partnership combines FETCi's proven intelligent transportation capabilities with SynerPark's local expertise to deliver a more connected and convenient parking experience

MANILA, Philippines, Aug. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- FETCi Philippines—the Philippine subsidiary of FETC International, an intelligent transportation and mobility solutions provider—and SynerPark Ventures, Inc. (SynerPark), a Philippine smart mobility technology provider, today announced the successful deployment of an integrated smart parking ecosystem at SM Southmall in Las Piñas City.

Officially operational since July 6, 2026, the deployment demonstrates how proven international intelligent transportation technology can be combined with local market knowledge and digital integration to address the evolving parking and mobility needs of the Philippines.

The partnership brings together complementary strengths. FETCi Philippines contributes FETC International's experience in intelligent transportation systems, technology integration, and operations and maintenance, while SynerPark contributes local market knowledge, digital integration, customer-facing services and its smart mobility platform.

At SM Southmall, the integrated solution combines AI-powered Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR), automated access control, multiple payment options and centralized parking management. FETCi Philippines' ALPR technology has been adapted to accommodate the variety of car and motorcycle license plate formats used in the Philippines and has consistently achieved a plate recognition accuracy rate of more than 99 percent since launch.

"The successful deployment at SM Southmall marks an important milestone for FETCi Philippines and demonstrates how FETC International's proven intelligent transportation technology and operational experience can be adapted to the Philippine market," said Tina Yang, General Manager of FETCi Philippines. "Through our strategic partnership with SynerPark, we are delivering a reliable and scalable smart parking solution that responds to the needs of motorists and property operators while establishing a foundation for broader connected mobility services."

For motorists with standard license plates, the system enables ticketless entry through automatic vehicle recognition, eliminating the need to collect a physical parking ticket. Customers can pay before exiting through automated payment stations, WebPOS or the SynerPark App, using cash, credit or debit cards, GCash, or Maya.

Within the ecosystem, the SynerPark App serves as a localized digital touchpoint for motorists, supporting digital payments and QR code-based access. The system also accommodates parking benefits for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, while vehicles without standard license plates can use QR codes for entry, payment and exit.

For property operators, an intuitive management dashboard consolidates equipment status, transactions, financial reports and parking data. It enables SM Southmall and SM headquarters to efficiently assess operational performance, reconcile collections and make informed management decisions.

During its first month of operation, the system demonstrated stable performance while supporting more efficient transaction reconciliation and parking revenue management. It processes an average of 4,786 parking transactions on weekdays and 6,842 transactions on weekends and holidays.

The deployment supports 3,574 configured parking spaces for cars, motorcycles and monthly parking customers, with 16 lanes across nine entrances and seven exits. These initial results demonstrate how FETCi Philippines' intelligent transportation capabilities and SynerPark's local digital services can operate together in a large-scale commercial environment.

For FETCi Philippines, the project also demonstrates how experience developed in electronic toll collection and intelligent transportation can be applied beyond highways to smart parking, commercial properties and emerging urban mobility applications.

Looking ahead, FETCi Philippines and SynerPark view smart parking as a practical foundation for connecting motorists, vehicles, destinations and payments. The partnership will continue exploring opportunities in areas such as digital payments, EV charging, loyalty services and other connected mobility applications based on the needs of the Philippine market.

The SM Southmall deployment therefore represents not only an improvement to parking operations but also an important step toward a more convenient, connected and intelligent mobility environment in the Philippines.
