China is ready to work with the United States to build a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability, China's top political advisor Wang Huning said on Monday.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, made the remarks in a meeting with U.S. representatives attending the third China-U.S. Track 1.5 Dialogue in Beijing.
Wang said this May, President Xi Jinping had in-depth exchanges with visiting U.S. President Donald Trump on bilateral relations and major issues concerning world peace and development.
China is ready to work with the U.S. to fully implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, enhance the correct mutual perception, respect each other's core interests, strengthen practical cooperation across various fields, and manage differences properly, Wang said.
The U.S. side said that bilateral ties are at a special juncture, adding that the good relationship between the two leaders remains the most precious and vital component of U.S.-China relations.
The U.S. representatives agreed to implement the common understanding of building a constructive U.S.-China relationship of strategic stability, facilitate business cooperation, boost people-to-people exchanges, and address shared risks such as artificial intelligence to benefit both countries and the world.
