Valify AI Chat enhances the company’s existing AI capabilities with two major advancements:

The management of purchased services is typically fragmented across many departments and individuals in a health system. Together, these capabilities make it easier than ever for users to uncover savings opportunities, understand spend patterns and make informed decisions across hundreds of purchased services categories. Guiding users along the way is Val, Valify’s new generative AI-powered data retriever, bringing a friendly, approachable presence to advanced analytics while helping illuminate insights and simplify the path to actionable decisions.

Val can answer questions and provide insights for spend areas such as Vendors, Categories, Entities, Systems, Departments, GL Accounts, Indicators, Initiatives, and Valify Index.

“This release makes Valify’s insights available to more stakeholders of purchased services categories across the health system,” said Les Popiolek, CEO of Valify. “By introducing AI chat, we’re making Valify’s intelligence instantly accessible to anyone responsible for managing purchased services—enabling them to immediately act on their data without training in the technology. At the same time, our power users will continue to leverage the full depth of the platform they rely on today, now armed with artificial intelligence to move faster, go deeper and uncover insights that drive even greater impact.”

Addressing the Complexity of Purchased Services

Purchased services remain one of the most challenging and overlooked areas of hospital spend. With sourcing spread across departments and hundreds of vendors, leaders often struggle to see the full picture. Valify AI Chat directly addresses this challenge by cutting through data overload and surfacing insights instantly.

AI That Turns Data Into Action

Traditional analysis methods rely on spreadsheets and disconnected reports that can be time‑consuming processes that don’t deliver the full story. Valify AI Chat changes that by pairing conversational intelligence with Valify’s industry‑leading purchased services dataset.

Key capabilities include:

A New Standard for Healthcare Procurement Intelligence

“AI cuts through the noise to give teams instant clarity and control over their data,” said Sharad Karkera, Chief Technology Officer at Valify. “With Valify AI Chat, we’re helping customers uncover hidden cost savings faster than ever before and turn those insights into confident, data-driven decisions.”

Valify AI Chat represents the next step in that effort by empowering supply chain, finance and operations leaders with a more intuitive, intelligent way to manage purchased services. It is now available to all Valify platform customers as part of the company’s ongoing investment in AI‑powered decision support.

MIAMI (AP) — Hurricane Karina strengthened Monday into a powerful Category 4 storm in the Pacific Ocean but isn't threatening land, forecasters said.

The storm has intensified quickly since becoming a hurricane Sunday and has been fueled by warm waters far offshore, the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

Karina was about 1,020 miles (1,642 kilometers) west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula of Mexico and had maximum sustained winds of 145 mph (233 kph), the center said. It was moving west.

There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect, but waves were expected to affect Mexico and likely Southern California. Additional strengthening was possible on Monday, followed by fluctuations in intensity.

Elsewhere in the Pacific, Tropical Storm Lowell was about 855 miles (1,376 kilometers) east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. The storm had maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (97 kph) and was moving west.

Forecasters said that Lowell could become a hurricane by Monday night or Tuesday. The storm posed no immediate threat to land, but the center said Lowell could be in the vicinity of the Hawaiian Islands later this week.
