China's electronic information manufacturing sector achieved rapid growth in the first seven months of this year with both accelerated export growth and surging industry profits, according to the latest official data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Wednesday.
The value-added industrial output of major companies in the sector rose 15.4 percent year on year in the January-July period. This growth rate was 4.5 percentage points higher than that of the same period last year.
Their combined operating revenues increased by 19.4 percent year on year to 11.1 trillion yuan (about 1.65 trillion U.S. dollars), while total profits jumped by 105 percent and export delivery value of the companies rose 8 percent.
In terms of investment, fixed-asset investment in the electronic information manufacturing sector increased by 7.8 percent year on year from January through July, with the growth rate higher than the corresponding period of 2025 by 5.6 percentage points.
Major companies in the sector have annual main business operating revenues of at least 20 million yuan (2.98 million U.S. dollars) each.

China has paid its full regular budget dues for 2026 to the United Nations, a move the world body said is "extremely helpful" in alleviating the ongoing liquidity crisis.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, confirmed at a briefing on Wednesday that China, the second-largest contributor to the UN regular budget, has fully paid its assessed contributions for the year.
"China had already paid partially its budget dues. Today's payment brings them up to date for this year. Obviously, China being the second contributor to the regular budget, as you can imagine, now having the full amount is extremely helpful to the ongoing liquidity crisis. And I think as the secretary general has often said, we've said we encourage all member states to honor their treaty obligations by paying into the regular budget," said the spokesman.
The UN has been facing severe liquidity pressures, with the organization repeatedly warning that late and unpaid dues from some member states have disrupted its cash flow and regular budget implementation. The United States, the largest contributor to the UN regular budget, has owed over 4 billion U.S. dollars to the UN, according to the world body in May.
