China urges the United States to revoke its sanctions on relevant Chinese enterprises and individuals, the Ministry of Commerce said in Beijing on Thursday.
"China has repeatedly said that it firmly opposes unilateral sanctions that lack a basis in international law and have not been authorized by the United Nations Security Council. Despite China's repeated representations, the United States has imposed sanctions on Chinese companies and citizens multiple times on the pretext of issues related to Iran. China strongly deplores and firmly opposes this. The U.S. unilateral sanctions improperly interfere with normal economic and trade exchanges between relevant countries and severely disrupt global energy security and stable supply. China urges the United States to immediately correct its wrong practices and lift sanctions on relevant Chinese companies and citizens. China will resolutely safeguard the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of its companies and citizens," spokeswoman Huang Ling told a press briefing.
