GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How can people scientifically determine whether they are at an unhealthy weight? What are effective weight-management methods suited to the physical characteristics of Chinese people? And how can ordinary people achieve a healthy balance between diet and exercise at home?

Sept. 1 marked China's 20th National Healthy Lifestyle Action Day. Each September, Infinitus also observes Healthy Lifestyle Volunteer Month. In support of the Weight Management Year initiative jointly developed by China's National Health Commission and 15 other government departments, Infinitus has chosen "Scientific Weight Management for a Healthier You" as the theme of this year's Volunteer Month. Guangzhou Daily•Yue Media and the Guangdong Oriherb Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Research Institute participated in the launch ceremony as supporting organizations.

In his opening remarks, Huang Jianlong, CEO of Infinitus (China) Co., Ltd., said that dramatic changes in modern lifestyles have made overweight and obesity a "hidden killer" threatening public health.

As a socially responsible company with more than 30 years of experience in the health industry, Infinitus has also recognized the seriousness of this challenge. In response, the company has joined Xinhuanet's "National Call to Lose Weight—100-Day Light-Body Plan," which aims to help 10 million families improve their health through weight loss.

Infinitus has also partnered with several universities and other institutions to lead the development of a group standard entitled Guidelines for Chinese-Style Body Management Suited to Chinese Physique. At the same time, it has published Traditional Chinese Medicine Weight Loss Guide for Chinese People, a popular-science book that translates traditional Chinese medicine theories on body constitution into modern standards that are easy to understand, put into practice and promote, providing the public with a scientific reference for weight management.

Science Meets Tradition: A Tailored Approach to Better Health

During the educational session, Infinitus volunteer and senior food and nutrition engineer Tao Qian drew on real-life examples to explain common misconceptions about weight loss. She taught participants how to use several indicators—including body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio—to assess scientifically whether they are at an unhealthy weight. Focusing on three areas—regulating body constitution, improving dietary intake and supporting metabolism—she also presented Chinese-style weight management solutions that draw on China's longstanding health-preservation traditions to help people move from a state of imbalance to one of balance.

Xinhuanet and Oriherb, a brand of Infinitus, collaborated on a set of "Body Constitution Conditioning Exercises," drawing on the 100-Day National Weight Management Program and a special initiative for the second season of Light-Body Research Institute. They invited Danta, the founder of Danta Beauty Lab, to co-create the exercises, which combine external meridian stimulation with internal body constitution regulation to help people develop a leaner, healthier physique through a distinctly Chinese approach.

The movements are simple to learn, require no special equipment and are suitable for practice at home, in community settings and elsewhere. At the event, Infinitus volunteers led guests and local residents in learning and practicing the exercises, giving participants an immersive experience of the physical relaxation and sense of lightness produced by moderate exercise.

From National Reach to Neighborhood Impact

Infinitus now operates 34 volunteer teams across China, with over 13,000 volunteers who have contributed more than 170,000 cumulative service hours. This network has become a significant volunteer force in promoting healthy lifestyles and fostering social harmony.

From the careful development of professional content and interactive on-site experiences to community-based services, Infinitus has established a complete pathway for bringing health education from professional research to ordinary residents.

Throughout this year's National Healthy Lifestyle Volunteer Month, Infinitus will fully mobilize its nationwide volunteer network to work directly in local communities and provide a series of volunteer educational programs on Chinese-style weight management. Incorporating the concepts and methods of the company's "Three Adjustments for Health Maintenance and Four Reasonable Practices" philosophy, these programs will help more people acquire practical skills in scientific weight management and everyday health maintenance.

Through these efforts, Infinitus aims to integrate healthy-living principles more deeply into people's daily lives and contribute to the advancement of the Healthy China initiative through its community-based efforts.
