Proposed amendments to footbridge in Kwun Tong gazetted
The Government gazetted today (September 4) the proposed amendments to the works of a footbridge in Kwun Tong, in order to delete a section of the originally proposed footbridge along How Ming Lane and across How Ming Street.
Details of the proposed amendments are set out in the Annex. The amendment plan and amendment scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

Any person who wishes to object to the proposed amendments is required to address to the Secretary for Transport and Logistics an objection in writing, which can be submitted via the following means:
- by post or by hand to the Transport and Logistics Bureau's Drop-in Box No. 6 located at the entrance on 2/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong. The box is available for use between 8am and 7pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays);
- by fax to 2868 4643; or
- by email to gazettetlb@tlb.gov.hk.
A notice of objection should describe the objector's interest and the manner in which he or she alleges that he or she will be affected by the proposed amendments. Objectors are requested to provide contact details to facilitate communication. A notice of objection should be delivered to the Secretary for Transport and Logistics not later than November 3, 2026.

Appointments to Private Columbaria Licensing Board announced
The Government announced today (September 4) the appointments to the new term of the Private Columbaria Licensing Board.
The Chief Executive reappointed the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene as the Chairperson of the Licensing Board and appointed Dr James Wong Kong-tin as the Deputy Chairperson. In addition, three incumbent members, namely Ms Cally Chan Shan-shan, Dr Cheung Tin-cheung and Mr Leung Sze-kit, were reappointed, and Mr Cheng Kit-hung, Mr Cheung King-wai, Ms Winnie Fan Chui-wah and Ms Christina Maisenne Lee were appointed as new members of the Licensing Board. Their terms of office will take effect from September 8, 2026, for a period of three years.
The Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan, said, "The members of the Licensing Board come from various fields, including legal, building, engineering, business, accounting and social services. They possess professional expertise and extensive public service experience. I believe that they will provide the expertise and invaluable advice necessary for the Board to discharge its statutory functions."

The Licensing Board is a statutory body established under section 8(1) of the Private Columbaria Ordinance (Cap. 630) for regulating the operation and management of private columbaria, in particular for handling the applications for specified instruments (licence, exemption and temporary suspension of liability), issuing relevant guidelines and codes of practice, and handling complaints, etc.
