The death toll from the devastating August 26 mudslide and floods in Nepal had risen to 1,259, with around 5,083 people still missing as of 19:00 local time on Thursday, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
A total of 12,038 victims have been rescued so far, with 21,314 security personnel mobilized for search, rescue and relief operations, the Nepalese authority said.
