A private car evading police interception caused a crash in Mong Kok on Monday afternoon (September 7). During patrol, officers spotted a suspicious private car. When they approached to stop it, the driver suddenly drove off, hitting four vehicles along the way. One officer sustained hand injuries and was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment. Police later located the vehicle involved around 5 pm on Yan Yung Street in Hung Hom, opposite the Hong Kong Polytechnic University student hostel. Still, the driver had already fled and could not be found.

At around 4 pm on Monday, during a patrol in the Mong Kok area, officers spotted a private car acting suspiciously and moved in to stop it. However, the driver failed to pull over and instead suddenly sped off, hitting several vehicles along the way. During the incident, one officer sustained hand injuries and was later taken by ambulance to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment.

Video footage circulating online showed at least eight officers surrounding a black private car from all sides, demanding that the driver get out immediately. Some officers were seen striking the vehicle's body and windows with extendable batons, but the driver refused to comply and subsequently drove towards the officers and the vehicles ahead, managing to break through and escape.

The private car hit four vehicles in total. By around 5 pm, police located the vehicle on Yan Yung Street in Hung Hom, opposite the student hostel of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, but the driver was nowhere to be found.
