The death toll from a devastating mudslide in Nepal had surpassed 1,360, police said on Tuesday.
According to the latest figures released by police, a total of 1,366 bodies had been recovered as of 20:00 local time on Tuesday.
The catastrophic flash flood and mudslide triggered by a glacial collapse on the Nepalese side struck the remote China-Nepal border region on Aug 26 morning, causing heavy casualties and leaving thousands of people missing.
Authorities have been working around the clock on search and rescue operations, body recovery, and victim identification in the aftermath of one of the deadliest natural disasters in years.
