Service providers at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) are offering Chinese businesses support as they expand overseas.
The five-day fair opened on Sept. 9 at Shougang Park in Beijing, bringing together participants from 90 countries, regions and international organizations, with more than 1,800 companies exhibiting on site.
This year's fair has introduced a new outbound-services zone aimed at helping Chinese enterprises navigate the practical challenges of international expansion.
More than 30 professional services providers are participating in the zone, offering services ranging from human resources and business security to digital marketing and finance.
The services are designed to support Chinese companies throughout their overseas operations, from entering new markets to building and expanding their businesses abroad.
Xiang Dongsheng, general manager of LiuGong Machinery Asia Pacific, a major Chinese construction equipment manufacturer, said construction machinery manufacturers, overseas expansion requires more than simply exporting equipment.
"Chinese construction machinery going overseas is not just about selling the products. We should also bring services support, spare parts support and technical support together. Used machinery should be even more so. Overseas customers are not always confident about the quality and history of used equipment. So we need after sale support, certification and spare part to go overseas together with machines," said Xiang Dongsheng, general manager of LiuGong Machinery Asia Pacific.
Through a series of overseas expansion services roadshows, companies can meet providers that support different stages of their international journey.
Among them is Gochi, an integrated platform for the auto industry that links Chinese automakers with overseas dealers, importers and customers.
Su Yi, CEO of Guogongyun Automotive Technology (Guangxi), the company behind the platform, said Chinese automakers need more than a quality vehicle to grow their business abroad and local infrastructure to reach overseas buyers.
"A good product is only the first step. To grow overseas, companies also need local partners, market channels, marketing and logistics services. Our platform joins all these steps, making the work easier and quicker," she said.
On the opening day of the fair, Gochi has signed a cooperation agreement with Junmao International Trading Company, a Singapore-based firm that partners with automotive and big-data platforms seeking to expand into Southeast Asia.
Jenny Lin, chairman of Junmao, said the company was drawn to Guogongyun's database of 400 million vehicles, which offers violation and battery checks, capabilities she said would underpin its expansion into Southeast Asia.
The agreement illustrates how Chinese firms expanding abroad are finding that while a competitive product may secure market entry, sustained growth increasingly depends on the kind of professional support that events like CIFTIS are designed to provide.
