Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in New Delhi, India, on Saturday to attend the 18th BRICS Summit at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Upon arriving at New Delhi's Palam Air Force Station, Xi was warmly welcomed by senior Indian officials.
Guards of honor flanked the red carpet to salute the Chinese president.
Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese foreign minister, and other members of Xi's entourage arrived on the same plane.
As Xi's motorcade drove from the airport to the hotel, representatives of overseas Chinese and Chinese-funded enterprises in India gathered at the roadsides to welcome the Chinese president, waving the national flags of both China and India.
