China is willing to work with the United States to enrich the constructive relationship of strategic stability between the two countries, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday.
Guo made the statement at a press conference in Beijing when asked about the purpose of the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson's Office by posting a video, titled "Constructive Strategic Stability," on its social media account on Tuesday. Guo first thanked the media for following the ministry's social media account.
"China is ready to work with the U.S. to enrich the China-U.S. constructive relationship of strategic stability, enhance dialogue and cooperation, and properly manage differences to contribute to the well-being of both peoples and to a peaceful, stable and prosperous world," said the spokesman.
The constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability was mentioned in the Beijing summit held between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump in May this year. During their meeting, the two heads of state agreed on a new vision of building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability over the next three years and beyond.
Xi is set to pay a state visit to the U.S. from Sept 23 to 25 at the invitation of Trump.
