Warplanes fly over White House during Trump's welcome for Xi

A special flyover was conducted as part of a welcome ceremony for Chinese President Xi Jinping held by U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday morning.

The flyover, featuring a B-2 Spirit bomber and four F-22 Raptor fighter jets, was held at the conclusion of a military review attended by Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan, alongside Trump and his wife Melania Trump, at the Rose Garden of the White House.

At the invitation of Trump, Xi is paying a state visit to the United States from Wednesday to Friday.

International gold and silver prices closed lower on Thursday.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery dropped 0.47 percent to settle at 4,298 U.S. dollars per ounce, while silver futures for December delivery lost 1.48 percent to close at 64.002 dollars per ounce.
