NEW YORK (AP) — Smart ring maker Oura Inc. says it is postponing a planned initial public offering due to market “uncertainty.”
In a Tuesday press release, Oura said it's delaying the IPO “despite strong demand.”
The IPO market had a solid start to the year but tailed off in the third quarter, according to research firm Renaissance Capital. Concerns about a possible slowdown in spending on artificial intelligence, the Federal Reserve’s resumption of rate hikes and a surge in bond yields — making borrowing more expensive — all played a factor, Renaissance said.
Oura customers use the ring to monitor their health, including sleep patterns and fitness activity. The company gets the bulk of its revenue from ring sales, with the rest coming from subscriptions.
Oura approached the IPO with momentum: The introduction of the Oura Ring 5 helped boost the number of paid members to 5.7 million and the company expects revenue for the fiscal year ending Wednesday to have grown by 90%.

LONDON (AP) — Former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio is auctioning off his World Cup winner's medal and other memorabilia from his career, weeks after revealing he was declared bankrupt.
A 22-item list — entitled “The Lawrence Dallaglio Collection” — is on the website of English auctioneer Budds and has a total estimated value of around 180,000 pounds ($240,000).
Dallaglio winner's medal from the 2003 World Cup is estimated at 50,000-80,000 pounds ($66,000-106,000).
Club medals, awards and international caps belonging to Dallaglio will also be up for auction on Oct. 13.
In an appearance on the High Performance Podcast this month, the 54-year-old Dallaglio said he experienced financial problems after being made bankrupt as a result of getting divorced.
Dallaglio, who was a back-row forward, played for England from 1995-2007, making 85 appearances — 22 as captain. He was a member of the team that won the country's only men's World Cup title, in Australia in 2003.
He also was an ever-present in the British and Irish Lions' storied series win in South Africa in 1997.
