China's embassies across the world mark PRC's 77th founding anniversary

Chinese embassies and missions around the world have hosted National Day receptions in recent days to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with international guests.

The Chinese Embassy in Russia held a National Day reception, drawing more than 1,000 people from all walks of life in the country. They spoke highly of the achievements made by China and the friendly cooperation between the two countries.

"In May this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to China. During their talks, Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping both agreed to further extend the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, once again demonstrating the strategic nature of Russia-China relations," said Ivan Melnikov, first deputy chairman of the the Russian State Duma.

"The heads of state of Russia and China have led the continuous development of our bilateral relations. We will surely respond to this call together with our Chinese friends," said Andrey Denisov, first deputy chair of Russia's Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at a ceremony hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan to mark China's National Day, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is immensely proud of the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China.

He said under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China has embarked on an extraordinary path of national development and rejuvenation, achieving remarkable accomplishments.

"On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartiest felicitations to the visionary leader President Xi Jinping and the great people of the People's Republic of China. This historic day is a tribute to the resilience, unity and indomitable spirit. (switch to Chinese) Long live China-Pakistan friendship!" he said.

More than 500 people attended the reception held by the Chinese Embassy in Laos recently, and guests highly praised China's development achievements.

The Chinese Embassy in South Africa hosted a reception in Pretoria, the country's administrative capital, on Wednesday.

Former South African President Kgalema Motlanthe praised China's development experience and highlighted the historical ties between the two countries.

"We extend our warmest congratulations to the government and people of the People's Republic of China on this important anniversary," said former South African President Kgalema Motlanthe.

More than 600 guests, including South African political figures, representatives from various sectors and overseas Chinese in South Africa, attended the event.

In recent days, Chinese embassies in Vietnam, Ireland, Canada, Togo and Chile have also held receptions and other activities to mark the anniversary.

The guests highly praised China's achievements in various fields, and expressed their expectations for strengthening cooperation with China to jointly create a brighter future.
