Russia said on Friday that its forces carried out early-morning strikes against infrastructure and maritime vessels serving Ukrainian troops, while Ukraine reported striking key Russian targets including drone control posts and troop concentration areas over the past 24 hours.

In a daily report, the Russian Defense Ministry said Russian forces hit a facility at Izmail Port in southern Ukraine's Odesa region used for receiving, storing and transporting military supplies and fuel for the Ukrainian military.

The Targets also included a dry‑cargo ship carrying Ukrainian military cargo, a road‑rail bridge providing logistical support for Ukrainian forces, and a power substation in the Kiev region.

Over the previous 24‑hour period, Russian troops took control of three more settlements in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions in northeastern Ukraine, said the report. On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released battlefield updates as of 08:00 local time, reporting 207 combat engagements along front lines over the past day.

Ukraine's air force, missile and artillery units struck key Russian targets including drone control posts and troop concentration areas, it said.

In addition, the General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces launched an early-morning attack against an oil refinery in southwestern Russia's Volgograd region.

The United States and Australian diplomatic missions in Brazil suspended in-person operations or temporarily closed on Friday, citing security concerns, two days before Brazil's presidential election.

According to an official notice, U.S. diplomatic facilities across Brazil -- including the embassy in Brasilia and consulates in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Recife -- have suspended in-person consular services until further notice.

The embassy and consulates have also stopped processing and issuing visas. Local military police deployed additional forces around the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia and cordoned off areas surrounding the consulate in Sao Paulo.

The Australian Embassy in Brasilia announced its closure on Friday, citing safety considerations. It advised Australian citizens to avoid visiting U.S. diplomatic facilities and nearby areas in Brazil.

Brazil is scheduled to hold the first round of its general and presidential elections on Sunday.
