Uniting People and Nature Along Hong Kong Trail's Ecological Corridor
New 10km Route Connects The Peak to Aberdeen Country Park P.H.A.B. Site

HONG KONG, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Organised by Green Power and with AXA Hong Kong and Macau serving as the title sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, the 34th Green Power Hike — the magnificent annual charity hiking event — will take place on 30 January 2027 (Saturday). Public registration opens on 8 October 2026 with a quota of 3,000 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants who successfully register on or before 15 November 2026 can enjoy an early bird discount. Members of the public, school teams and corporate teams are cordially invited to step onto the Hong Kong Trail, experience the rewards of hiking in nature, and help raise funds for its environmental education and ecological conservation initiatives.

This Year's Theme, "Together for Nature": Reconnecting with the Natural World and the Living Things Around Us

This year's Green Power Hike is themed "Together for Nature", celebrating the idea that every person who steps onto the Hong Kong Trail is not simply a visitor to nature, but part of it. From the birds gliding through the woodland canopy to the grass beneath our feet, every step of the journey is shared with the countless forms of life that call the trail home. At the heart of "Together for Nature", is the belief that the boundaries between people and nature need not exist. By approaching the natural world with respect and a willingness to listen, participants are encouraged to build a deeper connection with nature and the broader living ecosystem.

Dr Cheng Luk Ki, Director of Green Power, said, "With this year's theme, 'Together for Nature', we hope to inspire the public to rethink the relationship between people and nature. The Hong Kong Trail is not only a popular hiking destination, but also an important habitat for countless local wildlife species. We encourage every hiker, while testing their physical endurance, to step into the mountains and forests with respect, take time to listen to and experience nature, and integrate the "Leave No Trace" philosophy into their daily lives to help safeguard our local biodiversity."

Sally Wan, Chief Executive Officer, AXA Greater China and AXA Global Private, said, "AXA is honoured to serve as the title sponsor of the Green Power Hike for the fourth consecutive year and to join hands with Green Power in promoting nature conservation and sustainable development. This year's theme, 'Together for Nature', closely aligns with AXA's sustainability focus. Protecting nature is an important pillar of our sustainability strategy, and the Green Power Hike provides an ideal opportunity for people across the community to connect with nature, deepen their awareness of biodiversity and translate conservation commitment into everyday action. We firmly believe that protecting the environment is both a corporate responsibility and an important commitment to the next generation. We will continue to mobilise wider support for environmental protection and work together towards a greener, more liveable and sustainable future for Hong Kong and generations to come."

A Brand-New 10km Route Unveiled: Discover the Unique Harmony of People, City, and Nature

This year introduces a brand-new 10km route, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience the close connection between people, the city and nature. Starting at The Peak, the highest point along the Hong Kong Trail, participants can enjoy sweeping views of Hong Kong's iconic skyline and harbour. The route descends towards Pok Fu Lam Reservoir — Hong Kong's first reservoir — where participants can take in both its rich heritage and surroundings. Upon entering Section 2 of the Hong Kong Trail, participants will be rewarded with panoramic views of Aberdeen, the East Lamma Channel and Lamma Island. One stretch of the route passes remarkably close to residential neighbourhoods, vividly showcasing Hong Kong's distinctive landscape where the city and nature exist side by side. The trail then winds through the tranquil Wild Ginger Creek before reaching the finish point at the Aberdeen Country Park P.H.A.B. Site. From bustling city vistas and historic reservoir scenery to peaceful woodland valleys, the new route offers an immersive journey through Hong Kong's unique natural and urban landscapes, allowing participants to experience first-hand the close interconnection between people, the city and nature.

Individual, Team, Green Team, Corporate Cups and School Cup

The Green Power Hike features Individual (Male/ Female), Green Team, and Team categories, with participants able to choose from the Full Course (50km), Half Course (25km), and the 10km (New route). The race also includes the School Cup and Corporate Cups. Participants can select the distance that best suits their experience and physical stamina and join the event upon meeting the relevant minimum donation requirement. Every participant will receive a Green Power Hike Waterproof Bag and a "Green Power Hike x T8 Commemorative Tee". Those who complete the hike within the designated time limit will be awarded electronic certificates and finisher medals. Trophies will be presented to the champions, first and second runners-up in each category. Both the 50km Full Course and 25km Half Course are recognised as qualifying events for the UTMB® Index (20KM / 50KM) and the ITRA National League (ITRA 1 / ITRA 2). Please note that the age restrictions and participation fees for the "School Cup" have been adjusted for this edition.

Furthermore, this year's race has garnered enthusiastic support from trail runners, including Hong Kong-based Japanese elite athlete Keisuke Suzuki, who will hit the Hong Kong Trail once again to run alongside fellow hiking enthusiasts and champion the green hiking philosophy. All funds raised from the event will be fully allocated to Green Power's environmental education and ecological conservation initiatives, aiming to elevate public awareness of various green issues, mobilise collective action in ecological preservation, and inspire practical actions to address environmental challenges.

Green Power Hike x T8 Commemorative Tee

Every participant will receive a "Green Power Hike x T8 Commemorative Tee". The design concept of this year's commemorative tee is uniquely inspired by the theme "Together for Nature", beautifully blending the mountain peaks of the Hong Kong Trail with local forest wildlife (such as the Black Kite, Barking Deer, and Masked Palm Civet) to manifest the conservation spirit of breaking down boundaries and walking hand in hand with all living things.

Add-on Gear: Green Power Hike x T8 Shorts (includes limited-edition Green Power Hike x T8 Breathable Socks) and Commandos Running Underwear

Participants may also purchase a range of exclusive event merchandise, including the "Green Power Hike x T8 Shorts" (which come with a complimentary pair of limited-edition Green Power Hike x T8 Breathable Socks), as well as commandos running underwear for added comfort during the hike.

Together for Nature: Registration for the 34th Green Power Hike Opens on 8 October

Together for Nature: Registration for the 34th Green Power Hike Opens on 8 October

CyberDSA moves towards its milestone fifth edition following three days of high-level government, industry and international engagement, as NACSA launches the My Cyber Hero Portal.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Cyber Digital Services, Defence and Security Asia (CyberDSA) will return to the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur from 19 – 21 October 2027, following the conclusion of its fourth edition today.

Watch the CyberDSA 2026 Video

The dates for CyberDSA 2027 were announced by Ir. Dr. Megat Zuhairy bin Megat Tajuddin, Chief Executive of the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) during the Closing Ceremony of CyberDSA 2026.

The announcement sets the next chapter for a platform that has continued to develop alongside a cybersecurity landscape being reshaped by artificial intelligence, increasingly connected critical infrastructure, digital trust and the growing strategic importance of data.

Ir. Dr Megat says "The work does not end when this ceremony concludes. NACSA will continue to work with every institution represented here, so that decisions taken at leadership level are matched by readiness where it matters most: in the systems, teams and services that people rely on every day.It is therefore my pleasure to announce that CyberDSA will return in 2027, from 19 to 21 October 2027. When we gather again, the measure of our progress should not be the number of conversations we repeat, but the gaps we have closed: in readiness, in capability and in the protection of the systems entrusted to us."

CyberDSA 2026 marked a significant fourth edition for the platform, with its strongest international representation to date and an exhibition floor reflecting the expanding scope of cybersecurity across government, industry, defence and critical infrastructure. Held from 5-7 October under the theme "Advancing Secure AI, Strengthening Digital Trust, and Safeguarding Data Sovereignty," the event demonstrated how quickly the cybersecurity agenda is evolving, and how consequential it has become.

The scale and composition of CyberDSA 2026 reflected the position the platform has built within the regional cybersecurity ecosystem. This year's edition featured 167 participating companies from 21 countries and welcomed 8,862 visitors from 55 countries over three days.

A significant part of that international participation came through the Cyber Leaders Programme, which welcomed 68 foreign delegations from 19 countries, alongside representatives of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).  Participants included directors-general and senior officials from national cybersecurity and communications authorities, military commanders, defence cyber leaders, government officials, cyber attachés and senior technology executives.

They represented countries across ASEAN and the wider international community, including Azerbaijan, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Oman, the Philippines, Singapore, Somalia, Thailand, Timor-Leste, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

Through the Cyber Leaders Programme and a series of VIP exhibition tours, participating companies were able to engage directly with senior international and Malaysian decision-makers. Across the three days, these engagements included the Deputy Minister of Digital, Minister of Defence, Deputy Minister of Defence, alongside senior leadership from the Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, government agencies and national cybersecurity institutions.

The wider professional audience included CISOs, CEOs, C-suite executive and technology leaders from sectors including oil, gas, energy, water, manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications and infrastructure. For exhibitors, this creates an opportunity to demonstrate capabilities directly to organisations confronting real-world security requirements, while building relationships that can develop into commercial opportunities and longer-term partnerships.

Running alongside the exhibition, the CyberDSA 2026 Conference examined issues now shaping the cybersecurity agenda, from rogue and agentic AI, digital trust, cyber defence and data sovereignty to the resilience of financial infrastructure, energy, smart cities and water systems. Perspectives came from national cybersecurity agencies, government, defence, critical infrastructure, academia and global technology companies, with speakers representing organisations including NACSA, the UAE Cybersecurity Council, CyberSecurity Malaysia, MyDigital ID, Google, Blackberry, SPLUNK, Palo Alto Networks, Syntx Sdn Bhd, Exabeam, Bursa Malaysia, KWAP, MOGSC, among many others.

Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman of Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn Bhd, organiser of CyberDSA, said "Four editions later, many of the organisations that supported us at the beginning are still here. Others have joined along the way; companies have returned; and government and defence institutions have continued to place their confidence in this platform. To us, that continuity means a great deal. Because in this industry, trust is not something an organiser can put on a brochure. It must be earned, edition after edition."

The strongest measure of CyberDSA's relevance, however, comes from the companies that chose to participate.

Noorhanida Su'ib, Vice President, Product & Innovations, TM ONE, Malaysia, said "This is not our first time at CyberDSA. We have been here consecutively, and we're dedicated to this platform because we see promising value. We also get to share what we have so that the conversation can be on a broader level and contribute to thought leadership. It's not just about how the industry moves; it is also about how the Government has a certain vision and shared trust to make sure that cybersecurity evolves in Malaysia. Without fail, CyberDSA has successfully brought everyone together in one event."

My Cyber Hero Moves Into Its Next Phase

The closing ceremony also saw Ir. Dr. Megat Zuhairy officially launched the My Cyber Hero Portal, marking the next phase of an initiative introduced in 2024 as an annual workshop and competition series. By 2026, My Cyber Hero had reached more than 21,000 students across 1,100 schools nationwide, supported by a network of more than 3,500 educators.

The portal extends this initiative beyond individual workshops and competitions, creating a digital platform through which its engagement with students and educators can expand.

The Next Chapter of CyberDSA 2027

CyberDSA will return to MITEC from 19 – 21 October 2027, marking the milestone fifth edition of the event. The next edition will build on the participation and government-industry engagement established over CyberDSA's first four editions, while expanding opportunities for companies to demonstrate capabilities, engage decision-makers, identify market requirements and establish partnerships across Malaysia and the wider region.

For an industry with no shortage of places to exhibit, CyberDSA's proposition for 2027 is increasingly clear: it is not simply about being in the room with the people shaping what comes next.

As CyberDSA prepares for the next edition, companies looking to engage with the region's growing cybersecurity ecosystem are invited to secure their place in CyberDSA 2027.
