European stock markets closed lower on Thursday.
The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index edged slightly lower by 0.16 percent to close at 10,441.60 points.
France's CAC 40 index shed 0.51 percent to finish at 7,729.69 points.
Germany's DAX index dropped 1.18 percent to end the session at 24,806.97 points.
European stocks fall on Thursday
The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.1 percent to 102.138 at 15:00 (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro added to 1.1209 dollars from 1.1199 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3225 dollars from 1.3219 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 157.86 Japanese yen, lower than 157.96 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar lost to 0.8316 Swiss francs from 0.8330 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.4224 Canadian dollars from 1.4256 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar declined to 9.9757 Swedish kronor from 9.9992 Swedish kronor.
