China hopes Colombia's peace process will continue to make new progress, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Sun Lei, said Monday at a Security Council meeting on the situation in Colombia.

Sun highlighted the headway made over the past decade and called for unified national efforts moving forward.

"A decade ago, the signing of the final peace agreement brought an end to Colombia's more than half-a-century-long civil war, setting an example of resolving conflicts through dialogue. Thanks to the joint efforts of successive Colombian governments, various sectors of society and the international community, positive progress has been made in implementing the peace agreement," Sun said.

"China hopes that the new Colombian government will prioritize the country's long-term development and the fundamental interests of its people, unite all parties, and continue to advance toward the goal of achieving comprehensive and lasting peace," he said.

China's e-commerce logistics index, an indicator of logistics operations in the e-commerce sector, stood at 111.9 points in September, up 0.4 points from a month earlier, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) said on Tuesday.

Eight of the nine sub-indices rebounded, covering total business volume, rural business volume, inventory turnover, delivery timeliness, fulfillment rate, satisfaction rate, personnel and vehicle load. The cost index edged down slightly.

The rise reflected a combined boost from seasonal demand and festival spending, with holiday gift-buying emerging as a new driver of growth in online orders.

By region, the index rose 0.4 points in the east region and 0.9 points in the central region. Gains were stronger in the west and northeast regions, where the index climbed 3.4 points and 1.3 points, respectively.

The sub-index tracking total business volume reached 129.1 points, while the rural business volume index also climbed. Both posted their highest readings of the year.

"In September, China's e-commerce logistics sector saw simultaneous gains in supply and demand, with business volumes in urban markets and rural lower-tier markets both hitting year-to-date highs. On the supply side, delivery efficiency continued to improve and logistics costs for businesses eased, reflecting the steady strengthening of online consumption vitality," said He Hui, vice president of the CFLP.

The e-commerce logistics index is compiled based on data from JD.com, a major online retailer in China. The baseline index was set up at 100 points.
