Chinese shares close mixed Tuesday

Chinese stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.10 percent to 3,800.86 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.25 percent lower at 12,353.70 points.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.18 percent on Tuesday to close at 2,958.34 points.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and other indices, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a welcome ceremony for Botswana's President Duma Gideon Boko at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday.

Boko is on a state visit to China from October 12 to 17 at Xi's invitation.
