SHANGHAI (AP) — Daniil Medvedev is back in the Shanghai Masters quarterfinals after getting the better of Stefanos Tsitsipas in the latest chapter of their combustible longtime rivalry.

There was no real drama this time, though, as the fifth-seeded Medvedev won 6-4, 7-5 to become only the fourth player — after Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray — to reach the last eight of the tournament in three straight years.

There have been verbal flare-ups in previous meetings between Medvedev and Tsitsipas down the years, including in the Australian Open semifinals in 2022.

Earlier, Rafael Jodar won after being a set down for third straight match and also reached the quarterfinals.

The 20-year-old Spaniard beat Botic van de Zandschulp 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2, having previously made comebacks to beat Thiago Agustin Tirante in the second round and Jiri Lehecka in the third round.

Next up at the Masters 1000 event for the 12th-seeded Jodar — who was given a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct — is Casper Ruud, who progressed after fourth-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime retired from their match with a suspected knee injury when trailing 5-2 in the first set.

Tommy Paul takes on Zizou Bergs, who beat Carlos Alcaraz on Monday, later for the right to play Medvedev.

The lineup for the quarterfinals in the top half of the draw was set on Tuesday: it will be top-seeded Alexander Zverev vs. Alex de Minaur and Arthur Gea vs. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

BOXBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 14, 2026--

TÜV Rheinland North America presented Teradyne with their Excellence in Safety and Sustainability Leadership Award at their Oktoberfest Client Appreciation Event on September 17, 2026. The award recognizes customers in good standing that demonstrate leadership in safety, innovation, standards of compliance, employee training, and publicly declared sustainability initiatives.

Teradyne was selected based on strong documented alignment with the award criteria. An evidence-based review of Teradyne’s public disclosures found strong support for five key areas: commitment to safety, innovative safety programs and technologies, documented safety training systems, consistent standards compliance, and quantifiable sustainability commitments.

The review highlighted Teradyne’s companywide EHS audits, mandatory employee safety training, contractor safety requirements, product-safety governance, and technologies such as collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, telemetry, and predictive maintenance that help reduce worker exposure to repetitive, dangerous, and vehicle-related risks.

Teradyne’s sustainability progress also contributed to the recognition. Publicly reported results showed that its waste-recycling rate increased from 40% to 89% between 2021 and 2024, recycled material rose from 340 to 4,076 tons, and water consumption declined from 140,536 to 108,459 cubic meters. The review also cited annual CDP reporting, an SBTi commitment, and third-party limited assurance of Teradyne’s 2024 Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions inventory.

Under the award program, nominations are submitted by TÜV Rheinland North America by sales or field leadership and evaluated by a panel of three to five experts using predefined weighted criteria to ensure transparency and integrity in the selection process. Teradyne is the second annual winner of this award following the inaugural winner P&G.

With this award, TÜV Rheinland North America recognizes Teradyne’s leadership in advancing safer workplaces, safer technologies, and measurable sustainability performance.
